Chris possesses a unique blend of business transactional and litigation experience. For more than 25 years, Chris has successfully represented individuals and businesses regarding real estate transactions, business and corporate issues, creditors’ rights and business litigation. Chris focuses on common sense solutions to his clients’ legal issues.

Chris grew up in Pittsburgh, PA. He graduated with an A.B. in Economics from Bowdoin College and earned his J.D. from Willamette University College of Law. During law school, Chris was a judicial extern for the Honorable John Rossmeissl, bankruptcy court judge for the Eastern District of Washington. He also worked as a law clerk for the Securities and Exchange Commission in Seattle. Chris has lived in the Pacific Northwest for nearly 30 years but remains an avid Pittsburgh Penguins fan.

When not practicing law, Chris enjoys participating in all things outdoors with family and friends, including skiing, cycling, running and hiking. Chris is an accomplished triathlete having qualified for both the Half-Ironman and Ironman World Championships.

Representative Transactional Matters:

  • Advised paper products manufacturer in the sale of its commercial and consumer divisions;
  • Represented electronic gaming company’s merger with a publicly traded company with a deal value of approximately $34 million;
  • Represented purchaser of precast concrete products manufacturer and associated real estate;
  • Represented seller of $23 million mini-storage complex;
  • Represented numerous sellers and purchasers of commercial, retail and industrial properties;

Representative Legal Proceedings:

  • Defended client in a $2 million fraudulent transfer adversary proceeding filed by bankruptcy trustee, case settled for nuisance value;
  • Defended client being sued by his prior employer for claims under the Uniform Trade Secrets Act, case settled at mediation on favorable terms;
  • Represented a group of homeowners who successfully sued their homeowners’ association challenging the HOA’s voting procedures;
  • Represented client who had been defrauded by former business owner in connection with client’s purchase of the business, lawsuit resulted in a verdict for the client for both money damages and rescission of the sale of the business;
  • Represented landlord in commercial eviction proceeding that involved non-monetary lease defaults, client verdict after seven-day trial;
